Grow these Ptelea trifoliata seeds and have a home brewing essential right on hand when you need it. Ptelea Trifoliata are citrus trees that do not require any special soil or fertilizer treatments. They grow fine in competitive forest conditions because they will branch out to catch the sun and nutrient poor soil conditions are okay…no real maintenance required for this one.
Germination Procedure: Sow seeds on soil surface in the fall for overwintering and spring sprouting. Ptelea Trifoliata naturally have a low germination rate on round 1. That’s right, round 1, about half of the seeds will germinate and others will germinate during another season of weathering. Tip: Removing the pericarp will help increase germination rates. If not sowing in the fall, cold/moist stratify the seeds for 3 months before sowing on moist soil.
