Grow Zones: 5,6,7,8,9
Germination: 70% (high rate for this seed type)
Commonly used in professional landscapes as it is very easy to shape due to the way the branches form. Make the perfect square, circle or any shape you can think of with Boxwood. Potted boxwood plants dress up entrances nicely and bring a sense of structure and formality to a space. The leaves on the Korean Boxwood are smaller, which makes it an extra plush looking boxwood specimen that is simply more than ideal!
How to Grow and Care for Buxus Boxwood:
Plant 2-3 seeds per planting space (if using a pot, also stick to 2-3 seeds in the container). Space plants 2 ft apart for a separated row. If creating a hedge where you want the branches to collide together, plant them 1 foot and a half apart. Fertilize in spring or fall months when there is less heat. Prune or shape in spring. If you prune too late in the year the plants might not make it through winter weather conditions. Ensure new seedlings get at least an inch of water a week. Apply mulch to retain moisture to the planting area.
