Kabocha squash seeds, harvested from my own second generation plants (organic) grown without chemicals. Kabocha is a variety of small pumpkin, around large grapefruit size to size of small melon.
It comes from early trade from CA variety of squash to Japan where it was extensively cultivated and then when Japanese immigrants came to CA in late 1880s -1900s it made a resurgence as a local crop of note. Since then it has pleased many by being both ornamental and tasty, easy to grow clean and cook.
Whole fruit may be consumed, although uncooked outer flesh can be challenging. Male flowers will not become squash so can be utilized as fritters or eaten like any vegetable (awesome addition to a quesadilla)
Fruit is dense with a high ratio of viable seeds. *requires lots of room to grow* **Again, purchased originally as organic vegetables and grown / saved seeds. Seeds are not certified organic but the heritage speaks for itself.** Each packet will contain roughly 9 oz of seeds. Interspersed with corn and beans will give you ideal output.
