In Potomac Park, Washington, D.C., the Blossom time attracts thousands of visitors each April. They were presented by the City of Tokyo as a token of goodwill from the people of Japan to the people here in the US.
The first two were planted by then first lady Helen Taft and the wife of Japanese Ambassador Count Sutemi Chinda on March 27th of 1912.
“The Beautiful Pink Blossoms make it one of the most Attractive Bonsai trees that can be grown.”
When grown as a regular tree, it will produce a Dense Crown growing to a height of 26 to 39′ tall.
2) Allow the seeds to soak in water for 24 hrs, then place into a bag of moist (not too wet) peat moss & seal.
3) Place them into the fridge around 40 degrees for 90 days.
4) They can then be potted in moist well drained soil, and for the first few weeks, try to keep the roots around 70 degrees F for the first few weeks for best results.
