Coast Redwood Germination:
“Redwood Seeds are Notoriously Well Known for Very Low Germination Rates, so Plant More than you will Need.”
1) With a germination rate of only appx 20%, Germination speed can be increased by soaking for 24 hours in distilled water.
2) Plant at least 20 seeds 1/8 deep or less in the same spot inside a shallow container using clean potting soil. Plant shallow as the seeds need light in order to germinate.
3) Cover with plastic to keep moist & in a cool area with “indirect” light. No sun at first as they must Not become dry during germination.
4) As soon as the tree is a few inches tall, it can be moved into a larger container.
