The Ficus Religiosa is a holy tree used for meditating under. Mystifying to many, the enchanting leaves of this tree always move “wind or no wind”. Also referred to as, the “Sacred Fig”. This beautiful tree is listed in traditional medicinal textbooks as having uses for about 50 disorders: Fever, eye pain, nosebleeds, constipation, dysentery, asthma, oral health, jaundice, heart diseases, and diabetes are a few.
The fruits have terpenoids, glycosides, flavenoids, and serotonergic compounds. The bark has steroids, flavonoids, alkaloids, phenol compounds, glycosides, tannins, saponins, polyphenolic content and sterols.
Almost every part of this tree i.e. leaves, bark, seeds and fruits are used in the preparation of herbal medicines.

Germination Procedure: Germinate in temperatures between 68-75 degrees. Sow seeds by sprinkling them overtop moist soil and gently pressing them enough that they do not blow away, but have access to the moisture of the soil and the sunlight. Seeds require sunlight to sprout. Tip: Amplify germination by covering the sowing area with a glass bowl.
