These seeds are from the United States.The parent bushes of these seeds bloom flowers in shades of pink white and coral. The bushes flowers mid-spring and boast glossy green leaves that turn to a beautiful a burgundy color in autumn. Peonies are perennial, they grow 3-6 ft tall and into 4 ft wide clumps. Tree peony as a species originated in China. They are excellent cutting flowers (many florists use them for bouquets).
How to Care for Peony Bushes
Space peony tree bushes 5 ft apart. Once established, fertilize 3 times per year: Once in early spring before buds appear, then again after the flowers have bloomed and are withering and then once again in autumn when the leaves turn colors. Prune new branches and sprouts in spring to ensure more of the plant energy goes to blooming and not towards outward spreading. Cut flowers in the morning. In frigid cold temperatures, apply mulch to the flower beds.
Germination Procedure: Soak seeds in water for an hour. Next, cold stratify the seeds (Place soaked seeds into a plastic bag containing soil, then place entire bag into refrigerator for 3-4 months). Finally, plant seeds for sprouting when temperatures are warm at a 2 inch depth.
