How to Care for Kiwifruit Vine
Golden Kiwifruit Shrubs need at least 6 hours of sun a day, however they can be grown in partial shade. Space kiwi plants 3 ft apart from each other when planting. They can be grown in containers. They grow in clay, loam, peat, silt and sand (assure proper drainage occurs). Grow male and female bush trees side by side to ensure fruiting occurs.
Germination Procedure: Cold-stratify seeds 3 weeks in the freezer before soaking in water. Soak seeds in water everyday, and thoroughly rinse the seeds off after each day has passed for an entire week. Next, spread seeds overtop moist soil, surrounding the seeds but leaving some parts of the seeds available to the sunlights influence. Sunlight is required for germination to occur.
